Students from the Durmstrang Institute have arrived at Hogwarts Castle on their magical ship, which emerges from the waters of Hogwarts. Professor Karkaroff has brought his students, among them Viktor Krum, to watch and compete in the Triwizard Tournament. Krum becomes Harry’s latest rival, as well as Hermione’s suitor, as the two battle in three Triwizard trials. Released in 2005, The LEGO Harry Potter Durmstrang Ship 4768 set is a re-creation of the ship that the students sailed to visit Hogwarts in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.” The ship has a small cabin where Krum and the professor plan their strategies for winning the Triwizard Tournament. The table opens up to show a series of small tools. Onboard, a movable anchor is dropped for Viktor to go to shore for his Triwizard tasks. Push the plank down to send various minifigures for a dip in the lake with the merpeople. There are several hidden traps and treasures to discover on the ship. The set has removable decks to allow you to see and enact scenes in the ship’s interior. Explore and search for surprises from the crow’s nest. The ship itself is fairly large, measuring 21 inches high and 20 inches long.This set includes two minifigures to complete your collection: Viktor Krum with a black Mongolian hat and Professor Karkaroff. This LEGO Harry Potter set features several exclusive and rare brick elements, including a scroll, pieces of the ship, and two shields with the crest for the Black Falcons. The ship features six unique lattice-work window bricks and three rounded windows. Accessories included with the 4768 set include barrels, a black boat anchor, a black bat brick, a flag, seaweed, a sextant brick, a magnifying glass, a skillet, plume feathers with a pin, and a coat of arms shield. The Durmstrang Ship LEGO set includes 550 brick elements and is rated for those aged 8 and older. This set includes instructions in the box as well as a few extra pieces of commonly lost bricks.
